Christmas comes to Lugano: 30 November 2019 – 6 January 2020

It is true, Lugano is all set for Christmas!

From the very moment the great Christmas tree lights of ‘Piazza della Riforma’ are ceremoniously switched on (this coming Saturday 30 November), right through to the Epiphany, the beautiful lake city of Lugano will be full of festive cheer!

The heart of the vibrant city centre will enjoy a magical Christmas village ambience. Festively decorated shops will be accompanied by a tempting seasonal Christmas market, with stalls selling everything from artisan crafts and tree decorations to regional food specialties and wines (open daily from 11am – 7pm, until 24^th December). Free live music, Christmas carol concerts and daily performances will feature alongside street entertainment and seasonal surprises.

A children’s village full of activities, will also tempt little ones to get crafting this yuletide.

Those in search of a New Year’s party can celebrate throughout the night, with live music and entertainment at the city’s annual open-air party. With something for everyone, Lugano’s free Christmas festival will encourage residents, business travellers and holidaymakers alike to feel the merriment and love of this special season.
